As there will be a significant number of students registering for each ceremony, we ask that you please be on time. The graduations team have significant administrative duties to fulfill for each ceremony to ensure it runs smoothly. It is customary for our Graduands to wear Academic Robing to receive their award. On registration with the Graduations Team, you will receive two tickets your guests will sit in the free seating area with other guests, Graduands will sit with their class.
Although most students complete their course of study and have their degree conferred at a degree ceremony immediately following the award, some students will have their degree awarded at a time when no degree ceremonies are scheduled to take place. The University therefore holds in absentia ceremonies. This enables students who complete their studies outside the graduation ceremony periods to have their degree conferred and receive their degree certificate.

In the robing room you can collect your gown and get professionally gowned by a robing steward. Go to the photography room to get photographed.
Pre-book your photo package to save time on the day. On the way to the photography room, there's a free cloakroom for you and your guests to use.
Once the auditorium opens, you can take your seat. If you have guests, they will sit together in a separate part of the auditorium. You will be directed to the stage by our team.
When your name is called, you cross the stage, shake hands with the Chancellor, collect your certificate and return to your seat.
